NUJ Sets Up 9-Member Committee for National Election

The National Executive Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists has set up Nine Member Committee to Conduct new National Election.
The decision was reached unanimously during the National Executive Council (NEC) Meeting of the Union conducted virtually and led by the NUJ National President Dr. Chris Isiguzo.

 The Electoral Committee to be Chaired by Comrade Michael Ikewgu has representatives from each Geopolitical Zones of Nigeria while the NorthWest States of the NUJ is to be represented by Katsina State Chairman of the Union Comrade Tukur Dan-Ali Hassan.

The NEC Meeting which ended with six point communique also agreed on one month extension of the tenure of the National President and his team to enable the Electoral Committee organised and conduct a hitch free election in November this year at Owerri, Imo State.

Additionally, the NUJ NEC urged all State Governors to immediately implement the new National Minimum Wage of Seventy Thousand Naira as signed into law by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
